New Highs Before Turkey Day
Dear New Money Club Member,
Like many of you tomorrow, I will be chowing down on turkey and stuffing.
And I'm excited because one of the things I look forward to every year is leftover turkey sandwiches with mayo. But I’ll also make sure to enjoy the opportunity to give thanks for all my blessings.
One of the best blessings I have is the opportunity to help you build your wealth by booking consistent trading gains every week.
Looking at the markets, we’re seeing slower action going into the holiday. And I expect the same on Friday, even though the market continues to notch new highs for the year in all three major indexes.
Now, the fear gauge, known as the CBOE Market Volatility Index (VIX), for the S&P 500 is at 21 and above our key level of 15. This indicates that volatility can rear its head anytime … but we’ll be prepared when it does.
Anyway, let’s talk shop…

Let’s keep focused and let the market come to us. And, as always, I’ll be keeping you updated every step of the way.
Your Questions, Answered!
The mailbag is full, so let’s get to your most pressing questions.
“Hi, Joshua,
The stock market is closed on Thanksgiving Day. Could you send us a list of all the other days that the market will be closed this year?” — Joe R.
Thanks for writing in, Joe! Yes, the U.S. market will be closed tomorrow for Thanksgiving Day, then open for a half-day on Friday.
In total, there are only a few more days this year when the markets will be closed or have shortened hours for the holidays.
As we watch our positions, it’s always helpful to know ahead of time when these days are coming. So, you’ll want to mark these dates on your calendar.
Here are the remaining market off days in 2020:
- Thanksgiving Day, November 25.
- Black Friday*, November 26.
- Christmas Eve*, December 24.
- Christmas Day, December 25.
*The stock market will be open but closes early at 1 p.m. Eastern time.
That’s it for me this week, as I’ll be traveling, relaxing and enjoying the holiday week. But be on the lookout for our next profit alert, which could still come on Friday before the market closes for the day.
Also, if you want your questions answered next week, make sure to send them over to questions@newmoneycrew.com.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
Sincerely,
Joshua M. Belanger
